Formed in 1999, D'espairsRay has grown as a band exponentially, even moreso than other Jrock bands that have gone through several line-up bands.  HIZUMI (vo.), KARYU (gu.), ZERO (ba.), and TSUKASA (dr.) have maintained a consistent dynamic throughout their years together as a band, and this dynamic has only grown stronger with their release of several singles, EPs, and two albums to date. 

 Their original indies sound has developed into thoughtful, well-arranged hard rock that has captured fans in Japan as well as internationally, gaining worldwide fans through extensive touring in the US as well as in Europe and Asia.  Notable appearances were at Sugoicon, Nekocon, AnimeNEXT, Jrock Revolution 2007, and most recently the Taste of Chaos tour in 2008.
