Psycho le Cému formed in March of 1999 when Lida, AYA, DAISHI, seek, and YURASAMA decided to venture into the unknown and create one of the most original acts that Japan has ever seen.  With a versatile pop-rock sound and flashy costumes, Psycho le Cému (PLC) has definitely caught our attention and fancy.  Since signing to the major label Nippon Crown in 2002, PLC has been featured on anime soundtracks, toured in America twice, and sold out countless venues in Japan.

PLC has a few very unique aspects to them, one being their use of FURITSUKE (aka para-para), or choreographed hand gestures/dances to interact with their fans.  To date, they have four songs with a fully choreographed dance (Prism, AREA, gekiai MERRY-GO-ROUND, yume kazaguruma) which their fans enthusiastically learn and perform with them at live shows.

Another unique aspect of Psycho le Cému is their elaborate, often comical costumes.  This is one of the most important aspects of the band as it gives insight into their individual stage personas; DAISHI plays the hero, seek plays the monster, YURASAMA plays the conceited prince, Lida plays the fighter, and AYA plays the cute girl.  Many dedicated fans spend countless hours hunched over sewing machines in an attempt to re-create the costumes, which they showcase at live shows, in Harajuku, or (in America) at anime conventions.

PLC have proven themselves to be serious musicians despite their initially odd appearance, and they have a very promising future.  They are currently taking a break from activities for a few months and concentrating on solo or collaborative projects. YURASAMA is living out his life-long dream of acting onstage; AYA and seek are working with the members of AYA's old band, ISABELLE; DAISHI is testing out a solo project, and Lida has yet to announce his solo attempts. The future looks bright for Psycho le Cému, and everyone can't wait until they come back together and start recording again!!
